HH-66 is safe and simple to apply on PVC inflatables. Follow these three steps for a seal that won’t fail:
Cut a vinyl patch with at least a 2-inch overlap on all sides. Round the corners to prevent peeling. Clean the area with alcohol wipes or our HH-66 Thinner.
Spread an even layer of HH-66 Vinyl Cement on both surfaces. Let it sit until tacky (about 2 minutes).
Press the patch firmly onto the damaged area. Apply even pressure to smooth out air bubbles. Remove excess adhesive. Let it bond for at least an hour before use. Full strength achieved in about 24 hours.

How much HH-66 do I need for my repair?
Use 1 ounce for every square foot of vinyl you’re bonding. That covers both the patch and the vinyl surface. Small repairs take 1–2 ounces. Bigger jobs may need 4 ounces or more.
How long does HH-66 take to dry?
HH-66 bonds in about an hour, but it reaches full strength about 24 hours after application.
How long do PVC inflatable boat repairs last?
HH-66 creates a bond that’s stronger than the vinyl itself. Depending on frequency of use, the bonds created by HH-66 can last the lifetime of your inflatable boat.
Can HH-66 seal inflatable boat seams?
HH-66 is best for repairing rips, tears, and punctures. If the seam provides a 2-inch overlap or more, HH-66 can be a good option for this type of repair.
Does HH-66 work on non-vinyl materials?
HH-66 is ideal for PVC vinyl-coated materials, such as inflatable boats, mats, sports covers, etc. HH-66 is not appropriate for Hypalon materials, and it also is not recommended for use on EVA traction pads. For non-vinyl material repairs, check out our other available products.
Does HH-66 work on wet vinyl inflatables?
HH-66 can work on wet vinyl. For an optimal repair, wipe the vinyl dry and clear off dirt & debris using HH-66 Thinner or a compatible solvent when possible.
What size tear can the Vinyl Patch Kit fix?
The standard kit (which includes a 10″ x 10″ vinyl patch) repairs a tear around six to eight inches in length, as we generally recommend about a two-inch overlap on all sides of the damaged area. The industrial-sized XL kit includes a 30″ x 36″ piece of heavyweight (22 oz.) vinyl. Choose the patch kit size based on the size of your tear.
