How do I patch a vinyl tent with HH-66?
To patch a vinyl tent with HH-66, follow these steps:
- Cut the patch 2 inches larger than the tear. Round the corners to avoid peeling. Clean both surfaces with HH-66 Thinner.
- Brush HH-66 Vinyl Cement onto both surfaces. Wait until tacky (about two minutes).
- Press the patch firmly. Apply even pressure to remove air bubbles. Remove excess adhesive. Let it bond for one hour.
How much HH-66 do I need for my repair?
Use 1 ounce for every square foot of vinyl you’re bonding. That covers the patch and the vinyl surface. Small repairs take 1–2 ounces. Bigger jobs may need 4 ounces or more.
How long does HH-66 take to dry?
HH-66 bonds in about an hour after application, but it reaches full strength after about 24 hours.
How long do vinyl tent repairs last?

HH-66 can work on wet vinyl. For an optimal repair, wipe the vinyl dry and clear off dirt and debris using HH-66 Thinner or a compatible solvent.
What size tear can the Vinyl Patch Kit fix?
The standard Vinyl Patch Kit includes a 10″ x 10″ vinyl patch, so it can repair a tear up to 6-7″. The industrial-sized XL kit includes a 30″ x 36″ heavyweight (22 oz.) vinyl patch, so it can cover a much larger tear or even several small tears.
Please note that the vinyl patch made for white industrial event tents is only available in the standard size (10″ x 10″ white patch with a blackout layer).
