Our HH-66 Thinner is designed primarily for use with HH-66 Vinyl Cement.
- Formulated specifically for use with HH-66 Vinyl Cement
- HH-66 Thinner is designed for prepping, thinning, spraying, reactivating, and cleaning your project and tools:
- Prep heavy-duty vinyl surfaces (e.g., truck tarps, heavy-duty bounce house vinyl, etc.) to soften and prepare the vinyl to receive the HH-66 Vinyl Cement for ultimate adhesion.
- Thin HH-66 Vinyl Cement for spraying or for applications that require a more generous spread (e.g., over a large swatch with a roller) or a less viscous flow (e.g., in a syringe).
- Reactivate HH-66 Vinyl Cement that has dried too quickly during an application when applied as a skim coat.
- Revive thickened HH-66 Vinyl Cement that may be approaching the end of its shelf life to add a little mileage to the cement.
- Clean your tools or other applicators that have accumulated excess adhesive.
- Use HH-66 Thinner as a degreaser, as some of our customers do in their orthotic and plastic applications.
- Be careful not to wipe away excess adhesive from a non-solution-dyed material too aggressively with HH-66 Thinner, as the thinner can react with the color and cause it to bleed.
- Be careful with HH-66 Thinner when using it on a decorated vinyl pool liner, as the design can fade unintentionally. We provide alcohol wipes in our Vinyl Pool Liner Repair Kits for preparation and cleanup!

Since HH-66 Thinner is flammable, it should be used in a well-ventilated area. Handle empty containers with care, as any residual solvent is flammable.

HH-66 Thinner Application Instructions
If your coat of HH-66 Vinyl Cement is no longer tacky
Use a brush or roller to apply a light layer of the appropriate HH-66 Thinner directly to the application. Bond the pieces together as per the adhesive directions.
If the HH-66 Vinyl Cement has thickened in the container
Add up to 20% HH-66 Thinner until the original consistency is reached. Mix until evenly dispersed.
To clean HH-66 Vinyl Cement from brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other types of applicators
Follow the manufacturers’ recommended cleaning procedure. It is recommended to clean the applicator immediately after use. HH-66 Thinner is flammable and should be used in a well-ventilated area. Handle empty containers with care as residual solvent is flammable.
If the HH-66 Vinyl Cement is too thick for your application
Add HH-66 Thinner as needed (up to 20% thinner). Mix until evenly dispersed. Over-dilution can cause loss of bond strength. A second application may be required to achieve the appropriate coverage for a good bond.
To spray HH-66 Vinyl Cement, HH-66 Thinner can be used to dilute the product
Usefulness depends on the sprayer and application. It is not recommended to use more than 20% thinner for spraying. With diluted adhesive, a second application may be required to achieve the appropriate coverage for a good bond.
