The industrial-sized Vinyl Patch Kit XL offers your choice of color (black, blue, or gray) of a 30-inch by 36-inch piece of heavyweight vinyl. This 22-ounce vinyl material is accompanied by a 16 oz. can of HH-66 Toluene Free Vinyl Cement, which includes a brush-cap top for easy application, as well as a pair of nitrile gloves.

HH-66 is the world’s leading PVC vinyl cement. But if you’re facing a tear or puncture on the go, you’ll need more than the right glue to get that tarp, tent, bounce house, boat, mat, cover, or pool liner back in action.
With this kit, we’ve made it easy to be prepared by packing a 10” x 10” patch, a 1 oz. tube of HH-66 Toluene Free Vinyl Cement, an application brush, and two alcohol wipes for prep and cleanup in a single box. Grab a set of scissors for patch trimming, and you’re ready to make repairs from anywhere. We’ve also made a professional size version, our Vinyl Patch Kit XL – perfect for larger repairs. Note: Not intended for use with polyethylene tarps, i.e. inexpensive “blue tarps.”
- Tents & Awnings: Select the Midweight (14 oz.) patch above for most tents, camping gear, pop-up campers, awnings, and recreational equipment. Select the Heavyweight (22 oz.) patch for large awnings, commercial tents, heavy-duty covers, equipment covers, and industrial applications. Both patches are commercial-grade, polyester-reinforced vinyl treated for outdoor use and available in a number of colors. Note: Not intended for use with thin, nylon recreational tents.
- Pool Liners: Select the Pool (20 gauge) patch above. It’s commercial-grade, unreinforced vinyl ideally suited for vinyl pool and spa liners, as well as pool and hot tub covers. This 20-gauge vinyl is 0.02 inches thick. Clear vinyl only.
- Inflatable Watercraft: Select the Heavyweight (22 oz.) patch above. It’s commercial-grade, polyester-reinforced vinyl treated for outdoor use and available in a number of colors. Not intended for use with Hypalon.

Which side of the vinyl patch should I apply the HH-66 to – the smoother side or the rougher side?
While HH-66 Vinyl Cement bonds exceptionally well with either side of the reinforced vinyl patch included in our Vinyl Patch Kits, we generally recommend that the HH-66 be applied to the ROUGHER side of the vinyl patch. The rougher side is designed to bond with the adhesive and ensures optimal adhesion when repairing vinyl materials. The smoother side of the vinyl patch generally blends better with the original surface and thus is intended to be exposed after the repair. If you do choose to apply the HH-66 to the smoother side of the vinyl patch, then we suggest lightly sanding that smooth surface to ensure optimal adhesion.
How to Patch with HH-66 Toluene Free Vinyl Cement
1. Prepare
- Cut patch to appropriate size, ensuring a two-inch overlap on all sides. Round corners to minimize peeling.
- Clean surfaces with alcohol wipe provided. (Optional) Sand any surfaces lightly for best adhesion.
2. Apply
- Use the applicator brush to apply an even, edge-to-edge coat of HH-66 TF Vinyl Cement to both surfaces to be joined.
- Allow cement to set until tacky, typically around 2 minutes. Cement will remain tacky for just a few minutes.
3. Attach
- Press patch on firmly while tacky.
- Apply even pressure throughout to remove air bubbles.
- Allow to bond for at least an hour before use. Strongest hold achieved after one day.
- Remove any excess adhesive with alcohol wipe provided.
